Rules Reminders - 2017/18

Ahead of the new season you are reminded of the following league rules :

1) Once the match has started at 19.45 you are NOT allowed to practice on an adjoining table until after you have played your singles/pairs frame for that evening.

2) There has been the odd occasion when the local interpretation of the Miss Rule has been abused. Knowing that a 'Miss' will not be called after the third failure to hit the 'ball on' does not mean you can try to gain an advantage by rolling the cue ball on to the cushion or leave the cue ball well short of the object ball. You must make a genuine attempt to hit the object ball.

If in the opinion of the referee/marker a player is deliberately trying to gain an advantage which is against the spirit of the game, he may to continue the 'Miss' count until he is satisfied that a genuine attempt has been made.
